We’re getting close to Fall!! Was that a brutal (and long) Summer, or what? Anyway, let’s change up the format of this blog a wee bit, and peek at some of the most frequently asked questions in my office. They are in no particular order…
*Question #1: “When is the best time to take multivitamins?” At breakfast time. Multivitamin tablets absorb better with food due to a higher level of stomach acid for digestion, and you are more likely to remember.
*Question #2: “When is the best time to have my blood pressure checked?” In the afternoonwhen you are relaxed. Your blood pressure is highest in the morning. Also, caffeine temporarily increases your blood pressure.
*Question #3: “When is the best time of the day to take some calcium and magnesium supplements?”
Right before bed. Calcium (with Magnesium added) is calming, and helps you sleep better.
*Question #4: “When is the best time to get chiropractic treatment for a nasty migraine headache?”
In the morning. There is no advantage waiting until late afternoon for treatment if you’re in pain.
*Question #5: “Which is the best day to exercise?”
Monday, because it sets the tone for the rest of your week. People who exercise on Mondays are more likely to exercise on other days of the week too.
*Question #6: “When is the best time to do a cardio workout?”
Between 5 p.m. and 7p.m. because that’s when your lungs use oxygen most efficiently and you are more flexible (and you are less likely to get hurt). Also, you are warmed up then.
*Question #7: “When is the best time to clean my house?”
Begin at 4 p.m. Energy levels, and mood levels, are typically higher in the late afternoon.
*Question #8: “When is the best time of day to lift weights?”
Six in the evening. Your muscles are warmed up, and you have the most potential to perform at your peak. Lift weights every other day.
*Question #9: “When is the best time of day to go for a run?” Between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Your body temperature is highest then, and it’s a peak time for flexibility and strength.
*Question #10: “When is the best time of day to play video games?” Late afternoon. Hand-eye coordination reaches optimal levels during this time period.
*Question #11: “When is the best time of day for music lessons?” Late afternoon, preferably right after school. Most children are ready for something different to do in the late afternoon.
*Question #12: “When is the best time of the day to do difficult tasks?”
Between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. This is the time of day when you are most alert and feel like doing things at work and/or home.
*Question #13: “When is the best time to haggle at a Farmer’s Market?” At closing time. Sellers don’t want to pack up perishable goods and take them home. The same goes for garage sales…the best deals are at the end of the day.
*Question #14: “Which is the best day of the week to go out for dinner?”
Tuesday. Food deliveries happen early in the week and your meal will be fresher on Tuesdays. Also, for whatever reason , most restaurants are not crowded on Tuesdays.
*Question #15: “When is the best time of day to buy shoes?” Late afternoon. That’s when your feet are swollen and at their largest size. Therefore, they will also fit your feet in the morning.
*Question #16: “When is the best day and time of the day to find a friendly insurance claims adjuster?” Four in the afternoon on a Friday. Claims adjusters are in the best mood right before they leave for the weekend, and they are willing to be sympathetic to you…maybe.
*Question #17: “When is the best time of the day to take a nap?” Early afternoon, and before 3 p.m. So it doesn’t interfere with your sleep at night. And don’t nap for more than an hour at a time to avoid sapping your energy.
*Question #18: “When is the best time to use Spinal Decompression?”
When you have severe back or neck pain. It is used exclusively on the worst cases that we treat such as disc herniations, spinal degeneration, and those that are considering surgery. There is a screening process for anyone that is interested in using Spinal Decompression.
And The Answer To This Month’s Burning Question…
